I got to go see a special screening of monsters university today and it was so awesome!!
Also did my nails using my brand new dotting tools for the first time :)
April Showers bring May Flowers!!
Very simple — white base coat and used a bobby pin for the simple 5 petal design. happy may!
April Showers….
Very simple! Dark silver/gray base. And then I used a pencil for all the detail work. Made green grass, purple flowers, blue raindrops all using a pencil dipped in nail polish. (It’s my “I’m being lazy” dotting tool. However, I just ordered some dotting tools from Amazon, so when I get those, I will definitely be putting those to good use!) I did use the white striper to dab on the accents to the raindrops. And then finished with a top coat!
This is probably going to be my last design until May. When I get bored of this (in a few days probably lol) I am probably just going to do solid colors for a little while. Happy Spring!
Springtime Butterfly Nail Art!!
My roommate let me raid her polish stash so I had a lot of fun with this one! It looks hard, but it was really super easy. The hardest part was outlining the wings and that just took a steady hand and a nail striper. You can totally do that with a nail art pen instead, or leave out that step altogether. Also, there are two options for making the butterfly shape: either make and X by combining / and \ or (and I found this way easier) make an X by combining > and <. Lastly, for the design on the wings, I used a pencil for the coral color (because I didn’t have a toothpick handy) and just dotted the white with a nail striper. Totally easy and super fun and perfect for springtime! Happy Earth Day!!
after re-doing my nails this is what i have come up with. I don’t 100% love this either but I will keep it for now. Plus, I am trying to finish up what is left of my acetone before going home for the summer, so maybe I will just keep re-painting my nails! But anyway, this is simply colorful tips with a gold glitter border plus a yellow-glitter flower with white centers.
Happy Spring!
I attempted to do plaid nails last night. I did a different spring color for the base coat on each nail then used a nail-art pen to do the stripes. However, I hate my nail art pens because they either produce no polish or too much and are very impossible to work with. Lastly, I put a thin line of silver glitter over all the thick stripes. I really don’t like the way they came out because this is my first time trying plaid. And even though I just painted them last night, I am going to repaint my nails now because I dislike them that much. Whatever.
New polish! Haven’t done a plain color is a while and it feels so good! This is “perfect” by Victoria’s Secret. (Birthday present from my bestie :D)
Saw this design on YouTube by cutepolish - It is lion king themed so I’m going to do it again when I go see the lion king on broadway in a couple of weeks :)
2nd valentines day design:
One coat if a base neutral pink color. “It’s genius” by Essie two coats of tip. “Scarlett o’hara” by Essie using a striper brush on the edge of the purple. “Castaway” by Essie with a toothpick to make the hearts on the tips. Seche Vite top coat. Voila!
I will do one more design before Thursday!!
My first Valentine’s Day design for 2013 :D I admit it is not my best but I still think it came out pretty nice.
As you can see, I started with a base of pink (two coats). Then I used the striper brush from one bottle and used it to help make my silver stripes. Then I used the nail art pen for the white dots and various glitters to glam it up.
I hope to do at least one more design before the big day, but sadly, I only have a couple of shades of pink to choose from :(
Good luck finding your Valentine!! <3
